It measures what a kilo of this material costs landed in the markets tracked, with the basket’s headings weighted by imported volume. It is a Laspeyres anchored to the base: each month is compared with the base month using only the cells present in both, so the index does not move because the set of reporters changed. Months marked provisional rest on fewer countries and will be revised as Comtrade completes the period.

Farm-grown
Natural rubberHS 4001Latex, ribbed smoked sheet and crepe. The only farm-grown material on this list, which is why its price follows the Southeast Asian harvest rather than the oil market.2.311.982.282025
Petrochemical
Synthetic rubberHS 4002Every synthetic polymer added together. Useful for comparing markets at a glance; for buying, the two subheadings below say far more.2.872.462.532024
SBR, styrene-butadieneHS 400219The rubber of tyre tread and sports flooring. Solid forms only here; SBR latex is declared under a different subheading.2.722.342.392024
EPDM, ethylene-propylene-dieneHS 400270It takes sun, ozone and water without cracking. It is the coloured granule of running tracks and playgrounds, and that is what you are paying for.2.792.932.952025
Compounded rubber, unvulcanisedHS 4005Ready-formulated compounds, fillers and additives included, set to be moulded. They cost more than the raw polymer because the work is already in them.4.163.753.562024
Recycled and reclaimed
Reclaimed rubberHS 4003Recovered material returned to primary form. Low price and very uneven quality: two lots of this heading may have nothing in common.0.870.900.932024
Rubber waste, parings and scrapHS 4004End-of-life tyres, granulate and powder. It is the feedstock of recycled flooring and by far the cheapest heading of them all.0.290.320.242025
Finished product
Rubber floor coveringsHS 401691The finished product: vulcanised tiles, rolls and mats. Comparing it with the granulate it comes from is the fastest way to see what the processing is worth.2.233.262.452024

The two right-hand columns are averages for the year shown in the last column, which is not the same across headings: each shows the last year countries reported in full. The latest-month column is a monthly corridor figure and runs two years ahead of those averages — it is for today’s cost, not for comparing against them.
