What this site is
An information and quotation-request site. Nothing is bought here. There is no cart, no payment, and no page constitutes an offer of sale.
To buy a material you request a quote, receive it and accept it. What governs that transaction is the accepted quotation document, not these terms.
What Mellkar is
A trading company. We find suppliers and factories, negotiate price and terms, and supply the material.
We do not manufacture what we sell, nor are we the plant of origin. When we say "our suppliers" we mean independent factories we work with, not facilities of our own.
Technical content is for guidance
This is the most important part of this page.
The material studies we publish — composition, types, thicknesses, comparisons — are written to help you understand a material before buying it. They are not a technical specification and do not replace the manufacturer's data sheet.
The reference prices shown come from official international trade statistics, refer to bulk raw material from prior years, and are not an offer or a quotation. The price of a finished product carries binders, pigments, energy, tooling, freight and factory margin, and bears no direct relation to those figures.
Before committing to a purchase, the valid specification is the one stated in the quotation and in the supplier's documentation.
Quotations
A quotation states its validity period. Beyond that period it ceases to have effect.
Minimum order quantities, lead times and the availability of colours or formats come from the supplier and may change. Imported materials are subject to production schedules, shipping capacity and customs procedures beyond our control.
A quotation does not reserve goods or production. The transaction becomes firm when confirmed in writing on the terms the quotation itself sets out.
What we do not do
We do not advise on products that require a certified professional to answer for them. If a material needs a credential we do not hold, we say so before quoting rather than improvising.
Whether the material suits your project, compliance with the regulations that apply to you, and the execution of the installation are the responsibility of the buyer and their technical staff.
Use of the site
The content — text, graphics and compiled data — belongs to Mellkar. You may read it, quote it and link to it with attribution. You may not reproduce it in full or present it as your own.
Links to third-party sites are offered for their usefulness; we are not answerable for their content.
Availability
We aim to keep the site accessible and the information current, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted service or freedom from error. Pages state when they were last revised.
Changes
We may update these terms. The version applicable to a transaction is the one in force on the date of the accepted quotation.
